The Impulse Institute consists of a group of consultants and associates with a common goal to develop creative and strategic solutions in a global context. Our team is multicultural and interdiciplinary. We share:

ROBERT WILLIAMS CARCAMO MALLEN

FOUNDER

 

Robert Williams Carcamo Mallen is founder and Managing Director of the Impulse Institute. He provides advice on institutional matters with respect to design and evaluation of public polices, agrifood market analysis and food security.

 

Since 2003, he has collaborated with international bodies such as the United Nations Organization for Food and Agriculture (FAO), Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the World Food Programme (WFP), Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET). He mainly conducts studies on the evaluation of publics policies, agrifood market analysis and food security in Mexico, Central American and Caribbean.

 

Robert Carcamo is writing his PhD in Agricultural Economics at Humboldt University, he has a Master of Regional Studies from Research Institute Dr. José Maria Luis Mora, Mexico and a Bachelor in International Trade of Agricultural Products from Chapingo Autonomous University, Mexico.

 

 

 

STEPHANIE KRUG

GLOBAL NETWORK

 

Stephanie Krug is associate of the Impulse Institute. She has experience in multinational corporations focusing on sustainability management, public affairs

and information technology. Mrs. Krug supports design and initiation of social development projects focusing mainly on small agricultural production. She contributes strong methodological skills in project management, change management, design thinking as well as moderation skills.

 

Stephanie Krug holds a Magister Artium in Political Science from the University of Potsdam and Free University of Berlin. She has an additional degree in Latin America Studies with focus on economics of the Technical University of Dresden

in collaboration with the Universidad de Valle de Atemajac in Guadalajara, Mexico. Currently she is writing her PhD in Political Science about Sustainability Management in multinational cooperation.

 

 

 

BIRTE FUCHS

GLOBAL NETWORK

 

Dr. rer. nat. Birte Fuchs is an associate of the Impulse Institute. She provides a decade of experiences in the pharmaceutical industry focusing on research and development as well as licensing medicinal products. Due to her medical background, she contributes to the design and evaluation of public health policy. Also holding a diploma in Biotechnology, she provides proficiency in biotechnological processes such as food production, agriculture and medicine.

 

Dr. Fuchs actually studies human medicine at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin. She holds a Ph.D in natural sciences from the Free University of Berlin with ten years of working and leadership experience in the R&D Department of Ocatpharma Biopharmaceuticals Berlin. Additionally, she is a degreed engineer of Biotechnology from University of Applied Sciences, Berlin in collaboration with the Kihara Institute of Technology, Yokohama, Japan.

 

 

 

MARIO ARAUZ TORRES

GLOBAL NETWORK

 

Dr. Mario Aráuz is an associate fellow at Impulse Institute and works mainly on issues related to the governance of natural resources, including the environmental and socio-economic nexus, notably, food security. His perspectives include environmental economics, organizational behavior, and institutional analysis.

 

Mario Aráuz received his PhD. in Resource Economics from Humboldt University

of Berlin, Germany in 2015. He completed his M.Sc. in International Rural Development at Gent University, Belgium in 2007 and his B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics at the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua in 1996. Dr. Arauz has worked for leading cooperation agencies in Central America, including the European Union (EU), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), World Food Program (WFP), Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), the Netherlands Development Organization (SNV), and most recently, the Programme for Sustainable Farming (UTZ).

 

 

 

MUNA WAGNER

GLOBAL NETWORK

 

Muna Wagner is an intercultural trainer and facilitator. She collaborates with impulse Institute using interactive methods for smoother communication in international context and provides tools to decrease misunderstandings and disputes, which are rooted in cultural differences. Additionally, she facilitates group meetings and processes using her communication skills to help smoothly manage the flow and discussion of a meeting or event as well as increase the collective value of the entire community.

 

Mrs. Wagner has more than eight years of experience in supporting companies, organizations and start-ups in intercultural communication and vision quests, primarily in Europe, America and India. She also holds various teaching assignments at German universities.

 

Muna Wagner was born in Brazil and raised in five different countries. She holds a master’s degree in North American Studies, Political Science and Modern History from Free University of Berlin, studied in New York and works pro bono for changemaker projects in the UNESCO supported international township Auroville, South India.
